#WOD – Friday 13th Nov

In the last few months, the #WOD group of friends and I have been meeting in the yard next to the shop.  We have been doing the conditioning sessions specified under #WOD using a myriad of equipment such as kettlebells, specially provided frames in Leatherhead park and even just bodyweight.

Leading on from the strength and conditioning session Peter did for RTL in the shop on Tuesday evening, this morning we had the most amazing session…  Five ladies versus the barbell.

We learned deadlift, clean and press and squat and completed 3 lots of 6 squats.  We lifted a minimum of 15kg (the weight of the bar) and some managed a fab 25kg.

We learned some of us have tighter shoulders and others stiffer ankles.  And we learned that lifting weight is invigorating and enabling and most importantly fun.

I’m so very proud of my ladies.
